Child Safe Environments Training

Safety is a priority and a right for all of our customers, including the children and young people our team serves. Enhanced Lifestyles takes a number of crucial steps in ensuring our status as a Child Safe Organisation. These include:

  • Taking a preventative, proactive and participatory stance on child protection issues
  • Valuing and embracing the opinions and views of children and young people
  • Assisting children and young people in developing skills that enable them to participate in society
  • Focusing on the protection of children and young people and taking appropriate action to protect them from harm
  • Providing parents, guardians, or carers with evidence of our child safe environments policies and procedures upon request

DHS Approved Child Safe Training Organisation

Enhanced Lifestyles is a DHS Approved Child Safe Training Organisation. We have a key focus on providing children and young people strong support in their right to safety, including when accessing services in their community.

Our training is delivered by an experienced Child Safe facilitator who brings a wealth of experience in the education and disability fields. The full day Child Safe course is delivered via Zoom, equipping participants with:

  • The skills and knowledge to identify when a child or young person may be at risk of harm
  • An understanding of mandatory reporting obligations according to the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017 and associated regulations

The DHS Child Safe Environment training reflects an up-to-date understanding of the definition of harm and ‘at risk’ in relation to child protection and changes to the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017, with updates corresponding to this legislation incorporated into this training.

Our next training session is on 30 August 2022

Clinical Training

At Enhanced Lifestyles, we create a foundation of clinical training that equips our Lifestyle Attendants to deliver high-quality support. Each of our new Lifestyle Attendants undergoes this training before working with our customers, ensuring they’re equipped to deliver superior care.

Our clinical training is also available to external organisations and individuals, equipping them with the tools they need to provide high-quality, person-centred care.
