What to expect

This event is sure to be one for the history books!

Take a trip back in time with a tour of Olivewood Estate Homestead, the original home of Charles Chaffey. Charles, originally a Canadian, established the Renmark and Mildura Irrigation Colonies with his brothers George and William.

We’ll explore Chaffey’s 1889 wooden-floored log cabin house and marvel at the sprawling grounds and palm tree-lined driveway. Keep an eye out for the displays of working printing machines, photographic equipment, a 1926 Garford fire engine, and a replica of the olive crusher used in the production of olive oil. After the tour, we will finish with some morning tea.

When: Thursday 11 April 2024, 10:00am – 11:30am
Where: Olivewood Estate Homestead and Museum, 205 Twentyfirst St, Renmark

Due to the nature of the event, there are only a limited number of spots available, so get in quick to secure your spot.

You are welcome to attend with your Lifestyle Attendant or informal carer. We’ll cover the cost of both of your tickets.

Note: the tour requires a minimum of four guests. If the minimum number is not met, this event will unfortunately be cancelled.
