In November 2020, Muhammad joined Enhanced Lifestyles as a Support Coordinator after many years working in mental health and social services.
Muhammad completed his Bachelor of Sociology (Honours) at the University of Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan in 2015. After moving to Australia, he graduated from Flinders University with a Master of Social Work in 2019. Muhammad is a Qualified Social Worker and holds professional memberships with the Australian Association of Social Workers and the Australian Community Workers Association.
Muhammad has enjoyed a diverse career that has provided him with great insight and empathy, and has fostered the development of the skills and knowledge needed to be a successful Support Coordinator.
Before joining Enhanced Lifestyles, he worked as a Mental Health Support Worker, supporting people with severe and complex disabilities who were living in shared accommodation. He worked directly with participants, equipping them with the skills and confidence to achieve their care plan and personal goals.
During his Master of Social Work, Muhammad undertook a placement in a primary school where he worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. He also completed a placement at Life Without Barriers, joining their Partners in Recovery program.
Prior to relocating to Australia, Muhammad worked in child protection with the Government of Pakistan. He also worked for two non-government organisations: Strengthening Participatory Organization and Development Dimension Society.
Muhammad is also multilingual. He can speak and understand several languages, including English, Urdu, and Punjabi, enabling him to effectively work with diverse and multicultural communities.
