Our former Chairperson, Phillip Beddall, dressed in a white shirt, black jacket and tie and smiling. Please join us at the Colonel Light Statue, at the Corner Pennington Terrace and Montefiore Road, North Adelaide, on 14 April at 12:30pm. This location, also known as Light’s Vision has been chosen as Phillip, like Colonel William Light, had an inspiring vision for Adelaide.

Phillip’s life was extraordinary, and the impact he had on South Australia remains immeasurable. A fierce advocate for people living with disability, Phillip’s legacy lives on in everything we do as an organisation, and all we hope to achieve. The strength in his motto, “Nothing about us without us”, inspires those who knew him to carry on in his likeness.

Phillip not only served as the Chair at Enhanced Lifestyles, but for three other social advocacy organisations. He was on several access advisory committees across Adelaide, and in the weeks before his passing, was campaigning for the City South tram stop to be made more accessible for people living with disability. He was the 2018 West Torrens candidate for the Dignity Party, advocating for the right to choose for everybody. He was a beloved host and mentor at Radio 5RPH, with a career in media and broadcasting spanning three decades.

For such a dear friend and advocate for his community, it is an honour to finally lay him to rest.

Kind regards,

Trudy Gepp
