Our dedicated Psychosocial Recovery Coaches are highly knowledgeable in mental health – many even have lived experience of mental health challenges – so they understand the complexities and key elements of recovery.
If you are living with a psychosocial disability or mental health condition, you may be able to include a Psychosocial Recovery Coach in your NDIS plan. Getting started with a Psychosocial Recovery Coach
Your journey with an Enhanced Lifestyles Psychosocial Recovery Coach begins when we receive a referral from either you, your plan manager, or your local area coordinator. We then contact you to understand your priorities, personality, and preferences, and we use this information to match you with a Coach that best suits you. From here, we arrange an initial meeting so that you can meet your Psychosocial Recovery Coach.
The first few months with a Psychosocial Recovery Coach
After you meet and confirm that you want to work with your Psychosocial Recovery Coach, you will have regular face-to-face contact with them for around 1-2 months, COVID-19 permitting. During this time, your Psychosocial Recovery Coach will develop a deep understanding of your unique aspirations and your ideal lifestyle.
Enhanced Lifestyles’ Psychosocial Recovery Coaches understand that recovery is a team effort, so they work closely with you and your support network to create tailored recovery plan. Your Coach uses this plan to identify strategies that will empower you to achieve your goals and manage your mental health, and then connects you with NDIS service providers who will add value to your life – anything from Psychologists to gardeners!
After this initial phase is complete and you embark on your recovery journey, your Psychosocial Recovery Coach will maintain contact with you and your support team to assess your progress. Your Coach celebrates your wins, listens to your feedback, and seeks out opportunities to improve your plan as you go.
Your Enhanced Lifestyles Psychosocial Recovery Coach will go above and beyond for you. For example, they can come with you to your appointments for emotional support. It’s all about making sure that you are comfortable with the pace of your recovery journey – and the activities within it.
