With 8 years of nursing experience, 12 years of experience as an educator, 4 years of experience in aged care management, and 5 years as a support worker, Shelly has a formidable combination of skills. She is a highly knowledgeable Clinical Nurse Consultant, and also delivers training in complex healthcare practices for other disability service providers and our own Lifestyle Attendants. In-house training is a huge advantage for our staff, as it provides ready access to training that meets our high service standards. In short, it means that we are fortunate to have Shelly on board, ensuring that skillsets are sharp and quality standards are upheld.

When asked what motivates her, Shelly says that helping others makes her happy and fulfilled. During her time working in aged care as Manager, Experience, she was responsible for care plan management, internal quality audits, and incident risk management. This experience lends itself to the NDIS, equipping Shelly with the right knowledge to deliver a safe, quality, and compliant service for customers.

Shelly is a lifelong learner and holds an impressive number of qualifications in a range of areas, including a Master of Clinical Nursing, a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Arts, a Diploma of Children’s Services, a Diploma of Nursing, a Pg Cert in Infection prevention and Control Lead, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and a Certificate III in Aged Care. She has also completed Elementary Teacher Training, an Immunisation course through SA Health. Shelly has no intention of slowing down though: she is currently working towards becoming a Nurse Practitioner!

When she’s not working or studying, Shelly recharges by spending time in nature and meditating. She also loves cooking, watching movies, and listening to music.
