Megan has had an incredibly varied and global career; she brings a wealth of expertise and a true appreciation for customer-focused service delivery to the Enhanced Lifestyles leadership team in her role as Supported Independent Living (SIL) Manager.

Working as a live-in nanny was Megan’s first foray into in-home care, and she did this in both Florida and London. She also worked as a Duty Manager while in London, giving her experience in managing staff – and many moving parts!

Upon her return to South Australia, Megan opened her own restaurant in North Adelaide. When Megan took some time off to have children, she realised that she wanted to embark on a career change and pursue her passion for community services. She earned a Certificate IV and a Diploma in Youth Work, and began working with students who had disengaged from their school and community, supporting them to reintegrate back into the education system and social settings.

Megan also mentored NDIS participants and at-risk young people. She focused on strengthening their social and emotional wellbeing through goal-setting and encouraging them to build positive connections within the community. Megan then moved into a role with the Department for Child Protection, working in a team that provided specialised accommodation and care to vulnerable children and young people whose homes were not always safe and nurturing.

Immediately prior to joining Enhanced Lifestyles, Megan was a Quality Service Manager for another disability service provider. In this role, she managed the delivery of services with an emphasis on customer safety and well-being – and customers’ NDIS goals. Megan transformed the teams under her supervision into high-performing, customer-focused teams – and she received an internal audit score of 100% for all services that she managed!

One of Megan’s proudest career achievements happened in 2019. A customer of one of the services that she managed became non-verbal after a stroke; unfortunately, no family, friends, or next of kin could be located for him, and the hospital was at a loss. Megan persisted over a period of six months and, between finding new ways to help the customer communicate and investigating leads on his family, eventually reunited him with his father, sister, and brother.

As demonstrated by many of her previous roles, helping people connect to their community is one of Megan’s passions. Of course, she loves the fact that her role gives her the scope to develop Enhanced Lifestyles’ community events where customers can get out and about and make new friendships.

Outside of work, Megan can be found exploring in the great outdoors with her young family. She especially loves going camping as a way to unwind and enjoy all that nature has to offer.
